With an ever increasing number of young children engaging in online activity, helping your child to to stay safe and reduce the time they spend online is crucial. Similarly, being able to help your child understand how to evaluate what they read and watch online in a more critical manner is also really important. Key Stage 4
You can help your child progress in their Media course by encouraging them to engage with a range of media products from each of the three main media sectors:
Publishing - newspapers, magazines, posters, print ads etc.
Moving image & audio - TV, film, music videos, adverts, trailers, radio, podcasts etc.
Interactive - websites, video games, social media, apps etc.
Discuss different media products with your child - either films they have watched, games they have played or social media they use.
